Hello Folks

So, I am planning on buying a completely new desktop PC. But before I buy something stupid, I want to ask what you guys think of it.

For the graphics card, i planned on buying a Gainward GTX 770 Phantom

I will create different threads in the other subforums for the rest of the build, but planned is:

  • CPU:               Intel Core i4690 (LGA 1150, 3.9 GHz Turbo)
  • CPU-Cooler:   be quiet! Dark Rock 3 (135mm)
  • Motherboard:  Asus Z97-A (ATX)
  • Memory:         Corsair Vengeance 1x8 GB DDR3-1600
  • Storage:         Samsung 840 EVO Basic 250 GB
  • Case:             Phanteks Enthoo Pro
  • PSU:              Corsair RM 750

I will mainly use the computer for gaming (Battlefield, The Witcher, Far Cry, etc.), but also some music producing.

I decided to go with an 770 because the equivalent 780's are about 1.5 times more expensive at the local retailer and I don't think that's worth it. But, should I wait for Maxwell? It shouldn't be to long until it finally arrives and I've got some important exams in about two months, so I won't buy a PC before then anyways. Or are there better options for the GTX 770?

Thanks for all the Answers

Replace PSU with a ~600W one and the Mainboard with a H97.

Only get a Z-chipset mainboard, if you purchase an unlocked intel cpu.
