Why do companies say you can't use powerline adapters if they aren't on the same circuit? The whole point of powerline is to get faster internet in a spot in your house where wireless is either very weak or dead. That means you probably have a big house. More than likely, the outlet in which you plug the adapter to the router and the adapter you plug into your computer will not be on the same circuit.

Because of electrical problems you can run in to having the information hop different circuits.

Powerline shouldn't exist then because you are going to have it on a different circuit. You aren't supposed to use it if you're in a room next to the router! BS!

You can use it on a different circuits but for "optimal performance and stability" you aren't supposed to. Nothing bad will happen.

I have no idea how houses are wired in the U.S. But in Australia, all of your wall outlets are on the same circuit. Hence when you have a problem at one outlet and the breaker trips, all your wall sockets cease supplying power.

It better be faster than WiFi. I'm sick of slow internet and high ping.

It is, but if your internet is a leading problem powerline is only going to reduce the WiFi ping you'll get.

We usually have around 2 dozen circuits to prevent that. Appliances are supposed to get their own line because of their power draw, for example.

I'm not getting the internet speed my parents are paying for because of WiFi. I'm upstairs, the router is downstairs. My parents are paying 50/50, I get about 25/30.

Fair enough, most sockets here are three pronged with a 10amp earth. You need a special socket with a bigger earth prong to go higher.

You're complaining about those speeds? I can understand the ping but seriously...
