New 3tb hdd

Go to solution Solved by Vitalius,

Right click the one of the unallocated areas make it into a simple volume first and then right click the simple volume and there should be an option to extend volume which should merge the two together into one large partition instead.

This isn't the right answer. :( Sorry.

There are two different types of Partition Tables for storage devices. One is MBR, the other is GPT. Right click the area you outlined in blue in that screenshot and click "Convert to GPT Disk".

Do that, then just format the volume how you want it and it should be all of the space.

Right click the one of the unallocated areas and there should be an option to extend volume which should merge the two together then you can format the drive into one large partition instead.

I tried that, it wouldn't work. I had to convert the hdd to a GPT drive. That fixed it.
