This has been a year-long project of mine, and also my first custom PC, which is absolutely ballin' in terms of price, power, and performance. Around 12 hours of work has been put into this PC, and it's my pride and joy.  Here's a video of the overview:

I am using this build for heaving gaming, game developing, recording, editing, etc.

And now, without further ado, the Build!

PCPartPicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bPtJ99

Cost: $980(Taxes, Shipping and Combos included)

Overview: Intel Core i5-4460, GTX 970,8GB of RAM, 1TB 7200 HDD and 128GB SSD, Windows 8.1

Detailed Overview

Intel Core i5-4460: This thing is awesome. It can handle my heavy gaming, video editing, multitasking, and recording without a hitch. It's much more aggressive than the i5-4690K forprice/performance, since the editing and gaming increases are negligible for a wopping $50 more with the i5-4690K. (Cost: $190)

CM Hyper 212 EVO: Quiet, cheap, does(most) of it's job on a relatively hot CPU and fits inside my case. I like this heatsink, and would recommend it to, well, almost anyone, except if you're running a i7. (Cost: $30;Retailer: Amazon)

MSI A88XM-E45: Love MSI boards, they are easy to work in, and that blue fits in right with my graphics card. It's got lots of RAM slots and PCIE slots, so upgradability isn't a problem. It's pretty high end, atleast for me. I'm not used to $90 motherboards.
(Cost: $90;Retailer: Newegg)

AMD 8GB DDR3-1866 Memory:(Cost: $85) This freaking thing was $85 when I bought it. Oh my god, that's ridiculous. Nothing to say about it, not bad, not great.

SanDisk 128GB SSD:(Cost: $45) It's quite slow, but it does the job as my new boot drive.

WD Caviar Blue 1TB:Mass storage. Yay. (Cost: $60;Retailer: Amazon)

NZXT Source 220: Love this case. It fits everything, It has good airflow, USB 3.0, decent Cable management and bottom mounting power supply options.  (Cost: $60;Retailer: Amazon )

Corsair CX 500M: Modular. Quiet. Cheap. Yay. But seriously, I do recommend this PSU.
(Cost: $60;Retailer: Amazon)

Windows 8.1(64-bit): I like windows 8, it's faster, and my enjoyment of the start menu is quite grand.
(Cost: $100Retailer: Newegg)
