My Current PC has:

Intel Core i5 4670k @ 3.8 GHz, can go up to 4.5 GHz but the heat in my room was overwhelming

EVGA Geforce GTX 650ti Boost

8 gb Corsair Vengeance RAM

Corsair H100i

Corsair CX600 PSU

Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H

WD Caviar Blue 1tb

Fractal Design Define R4

 

Upgrades I want to Make:

Corsair AX760/860

Samsung 840 Evo/Pro 240gb

Corsair 760t

16 GB Corsair vengeance/ Kingston HyperX RAM

 

 

My question is, I am selling my iPad Air for $400 and I want to get either the GTX 770/780. I do not know whether I should save $100-$200 and get the 780, or if I should get the 770 right off the bat. What is the performance increase between the two? Thank you!

R9 290 is right at your pricepoint and performs better than 770 and same as 780. PowerColor PCS+ R9 290 is really great at $410

Im going to stick with nVidia because A AMD has compatibility issues and B  Im kind of a nVidia fanboy
