Best D5 bay Res?

hi, so ive been searching alot for a really good quality D5 + Res Combo 5.25 bay and i really dont know which one to get, i really dont like the XSPC ones and ive heared some failed, and i know that having bay res isnt the best, than having other res with o-rings on them, but is it true that most of them would fail at 60ish degree cause the acrylic in general will heat up :/ ?, there are many options out there, but for my build am lacking space and i dont have anything installed on my bay so its a good idea, heres my build if you wanna check it, and please tell me which one you prefer ! :o EK ? Alphacool ? Phobya? w/e xD

http://www.xs-pc.com/water-pumps/d5-photon-170-reservoirpump-combo, this is what i use, but the alphacool 5.25 bay res is a good deal as well.

EDIT: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=24255 the only downside is the fillport which is beyond retarded, you need a really thin funnel to get any liquid in it.

ive read the comment you made about the small XSPC acrylic res which failed on you, which made me even more worried to get the XSPC Res, am looking for a bay res, so i think i'll go with Alphacool one or EK

i currently have This, Phobya 150 res

so no need for tube res, am lacking space :D

I was literally about to post a topic on this :)

I've got an Xspc dual bay pump-res combo at the moment, and when I got it, it made a small amount of noise, which has  progressively gotten worse.

Now, every so often it will start going crazy and making a ridiculous amount of noise.

So my experience with bay pumps-res combos isn't so good.

However I have got other watercooling parts from them which are fine, so don't think they're all that bad

What i've got currently

ouch, thanks for letting me know, i think the one you have, has a pre-built pump and it says on the description: Maximum water temperature: 50C

maybe thats why yours started making noise, i have D5 pump and thats why am looking for a bay/res combo for it, D5 does cost alot but it is if not the best pump in the market.

I must be blind, I didn't see that when I bought it. Think i'm going to upgrade to a D5

I was looking for the same answer when I put together my loop a month ago. very satisfied with the machining quality of the Koolance unit. everytime I see the XSPC ones, they just look like they would be cheap acrylic panels put together (which I wouldn't trust to be leakproof). maybe they aren't, idk, nothing against XSPC (using their radiators) - but the Koolance unit felt and performs as solid as it looks

the XSPC ones are pure crap. You can see it in my thread, i started with an XSPC Pump/Res combo as a watercooling nooby, although Ghost warned me about that thing, i bought it and a month later the Outletport cracked and leaked. And the rattling of the pump was unbearable. And yes, i refilled and drained the loop several times, this product really is crap.

I went with a D5 afterwards and I am very happy now.

If you've got the room I'd recommend checking out the Monsoon res. It's a dual Bay so you'd need two free slots to fit it. It's what I'm currently using and I love it. I've had no issues with it since I got it
