I got a new toy....

phillrulz

Hey guys, if anyone has seen my previous posts, i like weird stuff, my new addition to my collection is a Phantom FC40, a FPV Quad copter, If i get a chance ( after exams ) ill do a review, for short its a FPV quadcopter with around 10 minutes flying time, it has a 720p camera which can record and stream to a mobile device simultaneously and reach a staggering top speed of 23 mph(37km/h) horizontally and 13 mph(21km/h) vertically, For its price it has amazing features, these include a failsafe which when receiver signal is lost will fly the quadcopter back to its take off point, the ability to actively combat wind to hover in the same position with 0.8m accuracy vertically and 2.5m horizontally. The radio is 5.8ghz and has a range of 400m on CE compliance mode or 800m on FCC compliance mode, The video can only lie stream to a dive at around 100m due to the camera being a 2.4ghz hotspot however it can still record to its internal memory card ( micro sd).

This is just a quick clip showing some height.

Prices, i got mine for £379 from amazon, http://www.amazon.co.uk/DJI-Phantom-Aerial-Quadcopter-Camera/dp/B00HJOTIFS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402785791&sr=8-1&keywords=fc40 however my seller was MD Racing Products Ltd They offered free 1-2 day delivery. Batteries cost around £18-23 each depending if you want the 2200mAh batteries which the phantom comes with or a beefier 2750mAh battery which provides slightly longer flight time.

Camera seems to be pretty good quality in that clip.

Weirdly enough the video is better than stills, the compression realy does reduce the quality so i think ill have a tinker and try change the compression as ive put a 32gb card in i could spend megs on pictures i dont mind, if not ill jsut stick to using VLC an fram capture for stills.

lol go for it some of the videos from the higher models are crazy, only problem is the higher the model the more addons and you can easily pass $1000 USD, as you will need a gopro and a gimble

enjoy this
