So my bit defender told me that windows had some critical update last night so I installed it. Ever since when I had been playing mw3 it randomly will freeze and I'll have to reboot. This has happened a few times now once while in game and twice while alt escaped out of the game. Could the update be causing this ?

you mean the recent windows update or do u mean switching from windows 7 to windows 8. my windows 8 had been running fine since I installed it on my new system a month ago. it only started doing this today after the update

no i mean the update, it even prevented my whole OS from showing, once i update and restart, when it's about to open the Start Screen, it doesn't, it just blacks out, reinstalled a fresh OS several times but once it updates the prob pops again, so i got back to Win7

I figured mine out. somehow my overclock voltage on my CPU got set to 1.0 volts instead of 1.25 adaptive. it happened after the update and I have no idea how but anyway... that was my problem
