So i've been encountering bsods on my system

i7 965

3 x 2gb ram

asus gtx 560

rampage II extreme

i've encountered the following stop codes,

0x0000000a

0x00000050

i've run memtest and in 1 pass I have only 2 errors, 1 in test 8 and 1 in test 9

Is this a memory issue? I'm inclined to think so as the ram i'm using is mismatched. However memtest isn't popping up errors everywhere.

The system is non-oced. all stock except ram which i upped from 1333 to 1600 using the bios.

I've for now reverted the ram back to stock and waiting to see if i'm still getting bsods.

What else am I missing or I should be doing?

Do you have any form of power raving, im not sure why but ive encountered the power saving options on windows vista and 7 or cause blue screens, this means no screensaver, no turning to sleep etc, check the caps on your boards, any increase in size or exploded caps are a problem, check your hdds, check the psu. I had a checklist but i lost the damn thing, ill edit this if i find it.

my mobo seems fine at a glance, don't see anything out of the ordinary.

I don't have power saving features on my desktop so I don't think thats the issue.

my system has been on for an hour now, I think the ram at 1600 doesn't work properly.

usually I would have had a bsod now. still needs more observation.

Is the ram advertised to be able to run at 1600mhz, or is it an actual overclock?

that is a ram issue, you should have 0 errors.

If going back to default settings didnt help..

remove all but one stick, test with HCI Memtest. run as many windows of that as you have threads and set the memory usage to 100MB or so for each. let run until it reaches at least 1000% coverage on all of them

repeat until you find the bad stick
