Recommendation on laptop

Hello all, a friend of mine is looking for a laptop for some softcore photo editing.

The budget is no more than 1000 us dollars.

I think an ssd would be nice to have but is it a must.

Also would a i5 work (well) or is it i7 all the way.

How big of a difference is a dedicated graphics card like nvidia going to make.

What are some recommendations any of you have.

Also she'd like best buy to stock/sell it since it's the only decent electronic store in our city

Photo editing can be done on integrated graphics of intel or amd apu's. You don't need to hit the ceiling of the budget. Walk into a store, she can choose the one that looks pretty for around $500-$700 and your done!

 

Just avoid E-series and Intel Atom notebooks! Grab one with an A6-series AMD APU or an i3,i5,i7.

 

I don't know your particular store location, so I can't recommend an in-store lappie.
