i7 4770k + H80i = 40°C on Idle?

Yup. Idle temps looks good. My H100i has idle of about 31°C and thats on push pull.

I thought push pull didn't really help compared to just push or pull

It doesn't really but having four fans means that I can keep them at very low RPM and still ensure plenty of airflow.

The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.

Thank you, the reason why I asked is because I saw a post from tomshardware that the same processor and cooler have reached 20C on idle. It would probably be because of their ambient temperature.

Idle temps are notoriously inaccurate also your temps completely depend on the ambient temps, so his room was probably alot colder than yours.

CPU: i7 3770k@ 4.6Ghz@ 1.23v - GPU: Palit GTX 660ti - MOBO: Asrock Extreme 4 - RAM: Corsair vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz - PSU: OCZ 650watt - STORAGE: 128Gb corsair force GT SSD/ 1TB seagate barracuda 7200rpm

You can try and decrease the cpu voltage a bit, just run prime 95 for a bit to make sure it is stable.

My 4670k is doing 22 C while ideling and goes up toe around 75C on load

You can't have your cpu cooler than your ambient unless it's under ln2. Also, amd temp sensors are notoriously inaccurate.

They use algorithms, it's not the raw data coming from the sensor thats why you generally cant compare Intel temps with AMD.

@Op what speed is the pump running at?

How do you check the speed?

Motherboard. Should be around a static speed of 2000-2300rpm

My 3570k w/ H80i @ idle, 21C ambient room temp. What's the temp in your room?

Edit: Holy balls! Your max temps are scary.  :o

Are you threatening me?!
