Hi, after using a large mid tower (Fractal R4) for a while and seeing my friends ITX build inside the Elite 110 (imported from USA :o) I decided that ITX is something that would suit me and my requirements.

I can fit the case in my rucksack which for work and travelling to friends is a HUGE bonus.

I'll probably be doing this in a few months but pcmasterrace syndrome has me planning and spending time on PCPartpicker builds and the lot; I imagine I'm not the only one.

So I'll post it here as a project I'd like to do (yes; a build log is going to happen). Insight is appreciated!

So the parts:

Fairly obvious choice really. I'm opting for the i7 4790K. If Broadwell releases (this will probably be built in 4 months or so; I like planning

:P) then I might consider that, but early Broadwell chips will probably have poor yields and be a crap set of overclockers.

:D

I will probably use my current 7950 for now; it's good at 1080p and isn't too loud; however it runs HOT so I don't know how suitable it would be. I'll probably upgrade to maxweell 870 or if AMD comes up with something cool (literally) then I'll take that

Dat sexy reference card.

ASUS Z97I-Plus, I like the look. I like ASUS' polished UEFI. I like the truly black PCB. I don't like the huge slew of "gamer" black/red boards suddenly releasing and then the cheaper ones have glossy black (i.e. brown) PCBs :c

:D

So kind of the point of this rig. I opted to use the EVGA Hadron Air, it's around the size of 2 xbox 360s side by side and looks pretty nifty. And going by the dimensions it will fit in my bag

The Noctua NH-U9B SE2 is my weapon of choice here. It isn't the best cooler around but it's certainly the best for this case. And it's Noctua.

My current 8GB is pretty low profile so I'll be using that. Nothing really to say here.

:) ).

I currently use a Crucial M4 64GB. I'll probably stick with this to start with and then grab a 250GB SSD at some point from Crucial (They haven't failed me so I'm happy to stick with them

Any ideas or suggestions? :D

Nice. I properly love this case.

But the noctua..

Are you sure you are not gonna have any clearance issues? Maybe an AIO?Don't mind me. I am just a hater of air cooling :|

I checked a thread and the noctua is hands down the most optimal. EVGA have an ITX cooler that works but it's expensive for what it is.

And I'd need the Hydro version of the case for an AIO. Can't find that in the UK. (I didn't look too far as I don't like 120MM AIOS after H80i experience).

Oh,it's not compatible with 240mm AIOs?

Don't even think about it then. Noctua FTW :P

I think the hydro fits 240mm AIO based on the fan mounting, but it also looks taller and won't fit in my bag :P
