If you are building up a PC , part by part instead of building it all at the same time, then the CPU, motherboard and memory,with a working compatiible PSU,should all be purchased at the same time, reason being is if anything is DOA, then you will know and be able to RMA it to the retailer, then having to deal with the manufacture of the part.

if you are planing a normal build start with motherboard, cpu, gpu and other essentials.

 

but if you are getting high profile coolers, custom waterloop, or if you have any doubts about components fitting start with the case, motherboad, gpu, cpu and move your way up..
