[YouTube]ROG Swift PG278Q Hands-on Video

Accursed Entity

Awesome but 800$ is just too much especially with higher res 4K displays such as the Samsung or Asus which sell for 100$ to 150$ less. Once the Gen 2 4K/G-Sync/DP 1.2a Adaptive Sync version comes along then I will gladly buy that without any hesitation.

They had one on display at the Dallas Microcenter... It actually doesn't look bad. Sideways shift wasn't noticeable at all until 45 degrees or so. Vertical really shouldn't matter, as you're not using this as a TV.

I want the PB279Q, though. That 4K IPS... Sub $1000...

Where at the Dallas microcenter is it on display? I can't find it and the neither can the employees

Back past the power supplies, kind of near the laptops. The PB287Q, right?

Oops. Sorry. Was just looking at the topic for the 4K and confused myself. D:

Somehow, it is kinda noticeable, I'd love to have an excuse to spend $799 on this monitor and not on a 4K monitor.

Gosh it is impossible to look at monitors on 1080p YT vids, I guess I just need to look at this stuff IRL.

Anyone else notice the white stuck pixel in the top center of the lower left quadrant of the screen? That thing is driving me nuts, I had to watch the vid twice because I was so distracted the first time!

I think someone commented on that video pointing out the dead/stuck pixel. But Asus replied back saying that that was a speck of styrofoam from the packaging. So, we're good!

"ASUS Nordic

Its actually a tiny piece of styrofoam that ended up on the screen from the box so its not a dead pixel :) "

It's not a "hands on" if the hands belong to an employee of the company making the product, FFS!

ASUS employees cannot pronounce ASUS?

Ay-suss is the correct pronounciation. They wrote it that way, so they're gonna have to deal with it. This is the first time I've seen one of their employees get it right. (And no I don't care how they want it pronounced)

According to Taiwan headquarters it's officially pronounced a-seuss.

Even if they were the headquarters of the Super Friends they won't get to change English phonetics.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Sorry but no, a "Hands-on" is just a direct contact/interaction demo show off, of a finished product. It's simple, doesn't matter who does it, don't know how you got that conclusion. Don't get so technical with words that are simple and straightforward.

Nah, a hands-on is executed by a neutral party, this is an advertisement, simple as that.

You are right, they can't change English phonetics. But, it becomes a murky grey area when a company that isn't from an English speaking country enters the picture.

For example, 99% of Asian last names are actually phonetically pronounced wrong in English, but there are sounds you can't make with the English alphabets.

You can call ASUS 华硕 from now on if it pleases you since that is the correct way to spell and say their company name.
