I have been recently getting an issue where my computer just gets stuck on the asrock bios screen. I called them and they said it might be a problem where the computer is taking a long time trying to detect the hard drive or something

SO i went to my boot option and i see "windows boot manager" as first. I try to switch the boot order so that my ssd where windows is installed on goes first. But then it just gets stuck on a black screen with an underscore flashing.

Windows does not boot if windows boot manager is disabled too.

I'm guessing you have windows 8 installed?

If so, it sounds like you have a problem with your secure boot.

Check and see what your settings are set for regarding the secure boot feature.

Go to the security tab in your bios and see if it is enabled.

Is secure boot enabled?

I would disable it if its on.

Cause on my AsRock board it wouldn't boot with it on, regardless of whether it was windows 7 or 8.

Where can i find secure boot in the bios? And what does disabling it do?

Secure boot would be found in security, it is used to stop malware from attacking the BIOS so your computer can't boot. This is more commonly found in UEFI BIOS's.

I checked it out and i didnt have that option. If that might not be letting me boot, then whats up with the windows boot manager? What is that? And why cant i boot windows without it?
