So I have a MacBook pro I mainly use for watching movies on at night as I fall asleep. But my problem is fat 32 is far to limiting with its 4gb file size limit. My gf and myself both have Windows gaming desktops and I'm ultimately looking for the best format to have my external hardrives.

Essentially I think my main storage 3tb Seagate 7200rpm drive will be formatted in ntfs which is fine because I stream my media over my network to her computer and my Xbox but I need a way to transfer files from my Mac to my Windows. Ideally I have a 1tb usb drive that's very portable and realistically will only be used to transfer movies, tv shows or temporary uni documents and files and I figure the best format for this is exfat . Okay now to the question

Is it really that bad to use it ??? I have read multiple reviews all saying that theoretically it's lacking security.

That's fine I don't really care to much about security if it's running off my Mac. The second is they say it's more susceptible to data corruption and loss that's also fine for me as it's only temprory data that's already backed up. and then the final limitation being older systems but I don't have any. So my question is what would you recommend doing and is this format really that bad ? Is it proven to be insecure or to lose data etc ? Would love some clarification on this matter.

I really need to condense my opening topic length haha sorry :(
