Depends. If it's a Mac on both ends, then undoubtedly yes. Otherwise, I'm not quite sure but the answer is no for the most part.

 

I'd recommend Google Drive for cross platform sharing or a flash drive. I find sharing to be a bit wonky and it's not private.
