Hi.

I wanted to know what are the best Headphones,Keyboards and mice. I would like to hear what are peoples opinions. In gaming headphones I would like to have them really good quality and really good for gaming. (So I could hear gun shots crystal clear and be able to hear people walking too.) For the keyboard I was thinking on getting the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate, but I wanted to see if there's better ones out there. For the mice, I don't know what mice are good for gaming. I have no idea how much dpi to get. Also it needs more than 3 buttons (Left-click,Right-click and scroll wheel.) I found this one: Logitech G502 Proteus Core:  http://www.ncix.com/detail/logitech-g502-proteus-core-tunable-b1-96227.htm

Hope you guys can help me. I would test all the mice, keyboards and headphones at a local computer store.

Thanks.

What's your budget?

For headphones, stay away from the gaming peripheral companies and get headphones from a proper audio company and slap a Zalman clip-on mic on them. If you absolutely must have a headset, then Sennheiser G4ME series is great at quite decent price (still a lot though). HyperX Cloud headset has got some decent reviews, too. I would take a look at the audio sub forum to see what kind of headphones people are recommending.

CM Storm makes the best "budget" mechanical keyboards. They're not the cheapest but their build quality to price ratio is outstanding. The next step up would be something like Corsair K70 and Ducky Shine 3.

For a mice, the G502 is an excellent choice. If you want to take a look at some other shapes, there's Mionix Naos 7000 for the wide ergonomic shape, Corsair M45 for a shorter fingertip/claw grip styles and SteelSeries Rival which is quite similar to G502 but a bit bigger or CM Storm Alcor for something slightly smaller.

Give us a budget. Just the headphones might cost you 300-400$. (and up to 5k$) :P

I don't want headsets, I want headphones. I am getting the Blue yeti microphone. If you think getting a standalone microphone is bad, then please tell me why.

Headphones: $100 and under (Is the Razer Kraken good?)

Also is the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard or stealth edition good?

Headphones are definitely the way to go. I would stay away from anything Razer, though. Right now you can get Pioneer SE-A1000 or CHC Silverado for really cheap over at Amazon.com. There's also Superlux HD-681 EVO if you cannot take advantage of those sales.

Again, I'd stay away from Razer keyboards. With the amount of money the Blackwidow Ultimate costs you could get much better regarded Corsair K70 or something from CM Storm (Quickfire Rapid-i, Quickfire Ultimate, Trigger Z, etc.).

Could you give me a list of all good headphones that are good for gaming? I need some where you can hear people coming up behind you and stuff like that. I also need them to look good :P

Thanks for the recommendations on the keyboard and mice.

Razer, especially their audio products, are mostly just marketing bullshit and low quality in the areas that actually matter. The only Razer products I would recommend are their DeathAdder mouse and Surround software, which you probably should take a look at. Gives any headphones 7.1 surround effects (although most often these days all that surround stuff is built into the games already...). The headphones I listed (Pioneer SE-A1000, CHC SIlverado, Superlux HD-681 EVO) are probably the best under $100 (as long as you can take advantage of the sales). Again, "gaming" headset is just marketing bullshit. Get proper headphones, they do everything a "gaming" headset does while being better at it and also being higher quality in every aspect and also works beautifully for music and movies.

Ok cool. Are Logitech headphones good? How would I look for more headphones, where would I look?

Logitech Ultimate Ears are decent, probably overpriced though. Their gaming headsets are about as bad as Razer's though. The Audio subforum here is a good place to check some recommendations, too. Head-fi.org is probably the place to go for all things headphones on the Internet.

What's wrong with Razer?

I believe razer spends soo much money for marketing and often razer products are cheaply made, at least for the price. Their keyboards & mouses are good but still a bit overpriced.

G502 From logitech is an awesome mouse, and K70 from corsair & cm storm quickfire are great keyboards.

Here are some good headphones to take a look:

  1. Sony MDRMA300
  2. Superlux HD681
  3. Superlux HD668B
  4. Denon AHD1100
  5. Creative Aurvana Live!
  6. Audio-Technica ATH-M30x
  7. Sony MDRZX700
  8. AKG K240
  9. Grado SR-60i
  10. Grado SR-80i
  11. Sennheiser HD558
  12. Sony MDR-V6 / Sony MDR-7506
  13. Audio Technica M50
  14. Creative Aurvana Live!2
  15. Audio-Technica ATH-M40x
  16. Sennheiser HD 380
  17. AKG K550

Chose something at your preference and your budget. All of them are great headphones

Anytime man. If you want to know about any of these headphones or the corsair K70/K95(which i use) keyboards i can help you.

One thing is should I get a headset or headphones? I was thinking on getting a standalone mic. Another thing, does all these headphones have really good sound quality, like surround sound? so if someone or something in bf4 lets say is coming up behind me, would I hear it?

The best option is clearly to get headphones and use a standalone mic. That's a no brainer. Better audio (from the headphones & mic) AND with less money.

Yes, all of these headphones sounds great but you need to check them all to find the one which sounds the best for YOU.

I think the AKG 550 has the best soundstage even it's a closed back headphones. Sennheiser 558 has good soundstage as well (not sure which one has better). Also battlefield has great audio. I believe it's going to be an awesome experience with these headphones and i bet you will be able to know where the enemy is.

Also Audio tecnica AD 700x has great soundstage and it's a great pair of headphones but lacks the bass(for some people) and it's a bit expensive in Europe. However if you live in america is still worth it.

I use the sennheiser HD600 when i play battlefield 3 (i don't use any fancy software or sound card, just set at the audio setting at headphones mode) and i know anytime where the enemy is (at least if he is close enough). It's super cool specially when i fly a jet because i know where the enemy jet is and i don't have to adjust the camera at all. :D

Ok nice. I will ask the people at my local computer store. Thanks again!

For keyboard, I would not buy Razer. I have a 10-keyless Razer Deathwidow Tournament and some of the keys do not register correctly. I would recommend Logitech G710+ or Corsair K70.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here
