question about WHS 2011

Do I need Hardware RAID? I really don't want to buy a raid card, and I have like 3 2TB drives, just want to make a home server just to watch movies and stuff anywhere. I want WHS but the whole RAID thing kinda throws me off.

Is there a work around to the RAID thing? Also all my drives can't be different on WHS 2011? :(

Is using the old WHS okay to do or is it just bad?
