Recently built a new PC with much faster specs than my old one.

Problem is, everything is just lagging.

I can't watch YouTube without constant buffering. Using the browser loads for 15+ seconds. OS functions keep constantly freezing.

When I open task manager, my CPU, GPU and RAM are all fine, plenty of headroom left.

I do a speed test with my internet and I'm getting faster speeds than ever thanks to 2.5Gbit Ethernet.

Bufferbloat test gives me a high rating as well so that's not an issue either.

Idk what to do. Every time I try opening anything my whole computer just dies for a good 15 seconds. Nothing works while the thing I'm opening is loading up which takes way longer than normal.

are all drivers/chipset drivers up to date, same as BIOS?

Yeah I have all most recent drivers that are confirmed to be stable.

Clicking anything = whole PC frozen.

Just clicking Windows task bar takes 15 seconds to open. Also my PC stopped working completely for like a whole minute when I tried to open task manager. It just wouldn't open. Everything stopped working. Audio stopped, video stopped, websites wouldn't load at all, task manager wouldn't open.

Then after 1 minute everything starts working again without issue. Idk what's wrong.

First - we need your specs. Full specs

Second - you may have plenty of headroom on your hardware, but are they running at their rated speeds and power? For example, CPU isn't running at 0.2GHz, is it?

What does 2.5Gbit Ethernet have to do with internet speeds?  Was 1Gbit holding you back noticeably?

I assume you did chipset drivers as well as all the relevant LAN/wifi, GPU, and put the monitor cable to the GPU and not the motherboard, you're not making the GPU run x8, etc etc?

Can you share your old and new specs?  It's like saying my new car is slower than my old one.

We have nothing to go on.

Yeah everything is as it should be. I had no issues for the first 2 weeks of using my new PC but yesterday nothing was working all day.

OS was just freezing even though there had been no updates either that could have broken it.

Game performance is good but opening something simple like a new browser tab, task manager or the windows toolbar just causes everything to freeze.

Maybe there's something terribly corrupted with the install, maybe do another clean install
But first, have you checked temps?

Temps are all fine. My GPU fans won't even spin even while gaming because my GPU won't go above 40°C and CPU hotspot hasn't seen temps above 45°C either in games.

It's a new fast drive, the SN850X. 90% of the drive is still free and Window's own drive health checker says that there's nothing wrong with it.
