i recently went from am4 to am5 from a 5900x to a 9800x3d. for over 3 years i had been using a r9 5900x i had everything set right and stable in the bios, everything was optimize. i was stable until my aio gave out. then i switch to an air cooler that i had in storage. my idle temps where higher by an avg of 20° C, gaming temps went from 45° C / 50° C to 55° C to 75° C. prime95 on the 5900x with air cooler was 85° C to 90° C, but i kept crashing. in the end i think i figured out what was causing my system to crash. but a friend helped me out and gave me his asus crosshair x670e hero with 64gb 6000 the only thing that i had to buy was a cpu and i ended up getting the 9800x3d. i am no longer crashing with the error saying whea uncorrectable error. now the only thing i can think of that was causing my crashing was the pcie x16 first slot.

anyways i went off track sorry.

there are a couple of problems that i am having right now, one is out of nowhere my audio will stop working but windows sound will say that sound is coming out. i have used ddu to uninstall the gpu drivers and the audio drivers. i have reinstalled the gpu drivers, the audio drivers, the chipset drivers. thinking it was usb i went into device manager and made it so the system could not power down the usb. when i lose sound there is nothing to indicate that i have just lost sound. there are times where i'll be scrolling youtube videos on everything that i need to know about the 9800x3d bios, ram. then bam no sound switching from one video to another video and lose sound. i open amazon music app and hit play windows says sound is playing but no sound is coming out. the other problem is for the first month of using this cpu ryzen master the version for the 9800x3d was partially working. then on the second month ryzen master just stopped working i click on it and then an outline of the problem is briefly seen before closing.

i have looked at everything here and did a little searching but in the end gave up and just went into the bios and messed with everything from there. i have reinstalled windows after programs would not open or other things making it so programs would not open. the error was The WinRing0_1_2_0 service failed to start due to the following error:

The system cannot find the file specified.

and

The appids64 service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

like i said i reinstalled windows 10 and then after a month i got the same error back. but the programs where still working meaning i click on it and the program would open with no problems. so i just left it like that not having other problems tell the audio. so i am thinking of reinstalling windows since i should have done that when i got the 9800x3d.

the other thing is i have really very little to know about pbo since going from the 5900x to the 9800x3d. i have looked on google, youtube and have watched a lot of videos on this cpu. in the pictures as of right now this is how i have the bios set. i would like to know like if this is right if i did it right or i am doing something very bad to this cpu and i just need to stop and just put everything back to normal. i want to get the max performance that i can as of right now.

my system is

Welcome to the forums!
What cooler are you using? That 95C is max allowed temp (Tj max, not the store) of that CPU. Overheating might cause these types of problems
I assume you have latest (non-beta) BIOS and have already done SFC/DISM scans and found nothing. If not, do those.
When you upgraded the rig, did you reinstall Windows? If not, it could be the cause.

the audio device that i am using is a LG sp8ya sound bar it use to be connected va hdmi arc but after upgrading to a qd-oled monitor i could no longer use my 3 monitors and 1 tv connected to the gpu. so i put the tv hdmi arc to the second computer and have the spdif cable connecting the sound bar to the computer. the second computer is currently not even plugged in as it is in pieces right now. i had been switching parts over doing some test trying to figure out what my crashing was caused from.

the air cooler i am currently using as it is the only thing i have right now is a ak620 digital pro i had gotten it to use to see if my aio was going out or the mounting pressure was causing the crash when i had the am4 system. first the aio was getting into the 90c so i took it apart and found white gunk all over the heat spreader. i then cleaned it and put everything back together and the temps went back to normal for a week. then it went back to the 90s. so i took it part again, again there was white stuff on the heat spreader. so i cleaned it and put everything back together. everything ran great for a week then again heating problems this time when i took it part the heat spreader was clear of stuff but there was a lot of air in the radiator. so i added distilled water and then put everything back together temps went back to normal. but again after a week temps went back up to the 90s. i then checked the radiator and it had air in it again. so i took the aio out and went to add more water and then the o ring thing had doubled in size and no longer fit. i then remembered that i had gotten an air cooler a while ago and put that on,  the ak620 digital pro on idle with 9800x3d sits around 45c when i game the temps are around 60 to 70c. when the shaders are being compiled temps go up to around 80c. but then go back down. but the other day i was playing warzone with a few friends and i looked over at the 3rd monitor and hwinfo64 was saying cpu tctl/tdei was hitting 96c. but hwinfo was saying that my cpu speeds where staying at 5.4ghz at all times even though the temps where in the 90s. the cpu die was saying 90c to 96c and ccd1 was saying the same thing about the temps. the friend asked me when was the last time i repasted the thermal paste i told him two weeks ago, so i turned off the game and went to sleep. in the morning i unplugged everything and took the air cooler out and repasted. plus blew out the dust from the cooler not much dust came out but some did. after that the computer temps went back to what i would call normal since getting this air cooler from the only tech place where i live. if i wanted to head to a good tech place i would have to drive 3 hours to get to a city that would have a computer shop that would be able to help me.

i have done sfc/dism and both say that it couldn't find anything wrong. i am thinking of reinstalling windows even though i had already done it 4 months ago. but had not done it when i upgraded to am5. the only thing i did was when was before turning off the computer i uninstalled the x570 chipset drivers and then turned off the computer and moved all the am5 parts over. i then booted up the computer and installed the x670e chipset drivers. for 4 months i haven't had any problems but then the audio started to not work. i am thinking of getting an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 reviews on this cooler with this cpu seem really good thumbs up for the cooler.

TLDR First paragraph: Bad issues with an AIO, might not know about biocides. Second paragraph: needs to reinstall windows and forget about AIOs in favor of a dual tower cooler

OP, Get a dual tower cooler, update the mobo bios, reinstall windows, try again

Alright, here’s what happened. I reinstalled Windows, let it handle all its updates, and followed the prompts to restart. As soon as the ASUS logo popped up, I got slammed with a blue screen: “Inaccessible Boot Device.Classic. Luckily, I had a Windows 10 ISO on my phone. I used my other computer to make a bootable USB drive and tried to fix the boot issue. Ran Startup Repair—no luck. The tool basically told me it didn’t have the repair tool. Not helpful. Tried bootrec next, but apparently, that command wasn’t installed either. According to the internet, maybe my ISO was to blame, so I grabbed another one. This time, Startup Repair claimed it worked. I crossed my fingers, restarted, and—same “Inaccessible Boot Device” error at the ASUS logo. Back to the USB. I tried the bootrec commands again. bootrec /FixMbr actually worked, but bootrec /FixBoot just threw an “Access Denied” message at me. I somehow got past that step, but honestly, I forget exactly how. Then I ran: bootrec /ScanOs Zero installations found. Then: bootrec /RebuildBcd Still zero. At this point I figured Windows must’ve deleted itself, so I went nuclear: diskpart, clean command, wiped the NVMe drive. Reinstalled Windows from the USB installer. After that, I ran updates again, rebooted, and… boom, same blue screen. Tried /scanos again—still nothing. I had no idea what was going on. After reinstalling Windows four times, though, it finally let me boot without hitting the error. After all that, I started reinstalling my usual software, but some apps just refuse to run now. A few install fine but won’t open at all. Splash Video Player, which I actually like, starts for a split second and then closes. No errors in the Event Log. Tobii Experience is another one. Installs drivers and software, but when I try to launch it? Nothing. Event Viewer is empty. At least my sound problems are gone. Yesterday (March 5th) was kind of a win, though. I got a new AIO cooler — the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360. Was supposed to pay about $100 for it, but a friend needed help swapping out his tires to install wheel spacers. The dealership wanted over $300 just to do that. So I grabbed my air compressor and impact wrench, popped off the wheels, put on the spacers, and had everything back together in under 20 minutes. After we finished, I went outside, lit a joint, and he goes, “Dude, thank you. You saved me a ton of money. Tell you what—just keep the AIO. Don’t worry about paying me.” He’d ordered it with his Amazon Prime account since I don’t have Prime. Before this, I was using an air cooler. It worked, but it was heavy, so I had to replace the thermal paste every couple weeksunless I kept the case flat. Still, the 9800X3D ran pretty hot. Now, with the new AIO, temps are solid. Idle temps sit between 39°C and 43°C. Gaming pushes it up to 65°C73°C. The only time it spikes is during shader compilation. Temps hit about 83°C for a second, fans ramp up to 3000 RPM, and then it quickly drops back to 73°C. Once shaders finish, everything calms down and the fans spin back down.
