Whenever I scrub the timeline while gsync is enabled in capcut the screen goes black for like 2 seconds making capcut basically unusuble... Haven't found other apps doing the same but wouldn't surprise me if there are others...

Idk to me it feels like windows messing something up, however as soon I turn off "adaptive sync" (which obviously also turns off gsync) in my monitors settings this stops and capcut works normally.

I'm not sure if there are any settings in nvcp or windows I could try, but it's certainly strange?

"G-Sync Compatible" means adaptive sync that probably works, but doesn't follow Nvidia's spec and thus doesn't get the official G-Sync badge. This is probably one of those edge cases where it behaves weirdly.

So... I waited a day or so, tried capcut again and I get this every time now:

20260227_002323548.thumb.JPG.81528937a1ba34b4f6f43be5a668d3f1.JPG

"Skip" then it tests again and capcut works normally without black screen (but now steam recording have weird hiccups but only during playback, not the exported videos...👀)

Either way capcut now fully works again albeit this annoying "testing environment" thing coming up *twice* before it launches...  ie. Yes, I think Nvidia drivers are a mess (but the thing is my games etc work flawlessly, it's just some weird temporary oddities now and then, especially either with gsync, with video recording and sometimes even just images)

Thanks Steve Jensen!

Well the monitor does have an official "gsync compatible" badge however.

Yes. G-Sync and "G-Sync Compatible" are not the same thing. G-Sync means it's got an onboard chip that does things the way Nvidia wants them done, "Compatible" means its VESA spec variable refresh and probably works with an Nvidia card in most situations.

Also funny, I tried Davinci Resolve and immediately remembered what I didn't like about it...

error error error not compatible with graphics card...

GG guys, but I'll stick to capcut, that at least works, somehow... 💀

PS: I get it .. It (gsync) works but it depends heavily on the vibe coding nVidia did the day they vibe coded the drivers (aka sometimes yes sometimes no)
