Missing Files On my computer

Well my mom is an attorney and she saves documents correctly blah blah blah, so yesterday she had i file and I know this because i was next to her and today it is missing searched in the C: directory didnt find it she is using windows 8.1 anyone know why this is happening?

Try doing a windows search for it.

 

You can also open whatever program last used the document and seeing if it's in the recents, or use the 'Save As' button so see what folder it's putting stuff in.
