New chair

I've noticed on the WAN show that Luke and Linus change chairs manufacturers from time to time which I guess depends on sponsorship. I need a new one. Just about reached a Maxnomic chairs lifetime and was hoping some staff member can maybe tell me which chair has been the most comfortable, dependable, etc....

I would also like to know if anyone has recommendations. My $120 Amazon chair has lost all it's support and I'd be okay with spending a bit more for my next one as long as I know it will hold up.

despite the sponsorship and hype, find a good office not a gaming chair.  Used may be an option, but brands like HM and steelcase make great chairs.  its a long term investment, so look at the price spread out over 5 or more years.  a thousand bucks on a chair sounds crazy, but 200$ per year over 5 years for a comfy seat, isn't out of touch.  and buying cheap chairs and replacing them is costly!

Look for an office liquidation company in your area. They're the ones who come in and take all the cubicles and furniture when offices get renovated. They usually want to sell large lots to other offices under construction, but sometimes they sell pieces individually to the public.

 

You might be able to find an all-day task chair like a Hermann Miller or Steelcase for about the same price as a cheap chair from the office supply store or Swedish meatball place.
