Do any of you know if there is going to a KitKat upgrade for the desire 500 any time soon. It's a 2013 phone stuck on 4.1.2 - Admittedly it has sense 5 but there seems to be a real of developers for this device over at XDA and it's a really nice  handset, Do any of you undergound types have any information on when we might be getting an upgrade, or even custom rom at somepoint?

there is a 0.001% chance it will get kitkat, you can probably get kitkat via rooting, but i don't know if you would want to do that.

I have rooted the phone and have a custom kernel that enables full root and removes write protection. Just waiting for a cyanogen port or somoene to make a decent custom ROM. I'd do it myself but I have no idea how to :(

FYI I'm talking about the Desire 500, not the original Desire.. that version already has a KitKat port .. ironically.
