Hello, i have been using a brand new UPS for around 2 weeks and it was working fine but today there was a power outage and the PC instantly turned off. Please note that only the case is connected to the UPS. Is it possible that the system mentioned below requires an online ups ? Thanks in advance.

sorry online UPS?

Can you confirm the UPS hold power while not connected?

Is there any management interface for this unit? USB / Network, etc

Common fault I've seen: Are the batteries connected?

No. Line interactive should be fine. I didnt find much about the UPS online. BUT mine has plugs that are surge + battery and some that are just surge. Check that your plugged in to a outlet that is connected to the battery.

Did the UPS turn off when the power went out OR did it stay on and the PC just turned off?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I looked it up and the fact it comes with "universal" sockets is the first red flag for me. A website claims it outputs 1200W but since it's the typical rebranded low end Chinese unit I call bs, that kind of unit is practical 350-400W and only last for a few seconds to a minute with that load as the design isn't the pinnacle of efficiency (50% wasted), and the batteries are only lead-acid at 7-10Ah: website itself claims 2x 9Ah, which is outright laughable for a unit that's supposedly capable of sustaining a 1200W load, played themselves there.

The rating on yours is simply fake, that's why it's shutting off.

Why: I have a pile of them at home as scrap and the form factor physically prevents them from being rated for 2500VA, compare it to a real 2500VA unit and you'll see those are almost thrice the size due to the amount of batteries, heck my 3000VA unit is as large as my case, and it's a full ATX case, weighs around 70kg, and real 2500VA ones aren't much smaller than that. For comparison mine takes 2 battery packs with 4 batteries each, so 8, vs. 2, the math isn't mathing.

The labels can say whatever they want but I pop the cover off and they're all 350W units on the inside.

Refund and get your money back if you still can, say you got the wrong product.

Tho if it's a third world country you're prolly gonna have to tank the loss, use it for something else if it works, maybe a couple lights if outages are common, I did that but my units were just free from a recycling centre, and I had to repair them, control boards shit the bed fast so users just throw them out.

Hi, the UPS stayed on but the PC turned off. I think the UPS has 4 sockets and all are the same.
