Question about Nexus 5

Will the Nexus 5, US Version, work out of the box, with a Cricket Micro SIM?

Basically, will the network be compatible? I heard some people saying no, so I just wanted to make sure. :)

I am going with the Smart Plan, from Cricket, haven't bought it yet though.

Well I mean it is a unlocked phone. Which would mean it would work on virtually any network.
