Hello, I am seeking help or advices from the LTT community regarding the following :

I currently have a Western digital 250gb nvme (WDS250G2B0C-00PXH0) as my "C" disk in my desktop.

I obviously ran out of storage on it (see attached) and would like to know if I can simply "copy" all of its data (maybe in the form of a partition) to another sata SSD I already have hooked up to my system (and that has plenty of free space).

And then, copy (once again) my 230gigs from my Sata ssd to my newly bought (and larger of course) nvme. (I understand this would require my pc to boot from my sata ssd while i configure my new nvme and copy my data on it, but I don't know which software to use or where to even start.)

Has anyone who reads this already encountered this situation, if so how did y'all managed it ?

thx in advance for any answer, I'm french so my english is far from perfect.

If by "All of it's data" you mean including the OS, no.

If you want to include the OS you need to clone the drive using softwares like Macrium Reflect and the likes.

Puts my new drive into NVME enclosure, connected it to PC through USB-C

Cloned the old drive to the newly connected

Swapped the old drive with the new one

Puts the old one into the enclosure, completely wipes it. It is now my ultra fast portable storage

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post

Yes i want my new NVME ssd (so boot drive) to be a clone of the old one (everything gets copied including OS). I don't mind buying a cheap windows key again (i already did that when I swapped my motherboard a year ago) but i just want my pc to act like the nvme got bigger if that makes sense.

Thank you for the suggested software, I'll look into it.
