Im looking for materials on comparing transcoding preformance over the generations of products (specifically, iGPUs, both Intel & AMD). Comparisons to desktop counterparts (Intel Xe, Arc & integrated Arc, or AMD SOC's and respective desktop cards) are fine, but not the focus nor is a comparison to industry giants like nVidia.

Mostly, I just want to see efficiency, accuracy, and featureset. I want to build a home server and have debated back and forth on settling for older, or springing for newer, and also looking at the number of media engines. I cannot find a good resource for this info though.

Help would be appreciated, thanks!

Is it for Plex? Because Intel iGPU's and Nvidia GPUs are suggested for Plex.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
