New gpu more cpu power

I now own a rx 9070 (2560x1440 180hz + 1920x1080 165/180hz)

 

I wanna know what cpu you would recommend to get most out of the gpu

 

chrome is atm in a version where it dosn't reload all tabs if i have 2x50 open (the same as last night) so reloading them takes alot of cpu power the 2x30 sec or so it takes to reload them, so i have the right icons and not the same icon to use for seeing what sites are open and where they are

 

when i game i multitask and i can have another or 2-3 twitch stream open, sometimes i have 1 i watch, sometimes 2.

 

In that situation my gpu is not always using more then 80% ish even when the game by it self can use the gpu higher

 

Dakar dessert rally stil doing a little lag or stutter i think is do to my cpu 

 

So more power from my cpu but what cpu, intel socket 1700 or am5 don't recommend me an x3d cpu just because it's the fastest

 

13600k(f) over 14600k(f) do to prices and heat, 7500f not faster then what i have, 7600x better, 7700 i feel is hot and makes it total much more expensive when i sell my mb and cpu and have to buy a mb + cpu + better cpu cooler, 9600x to expensive

 

I intentionally didn't mention what i have, so you choose what you think is a good match for my gpu more then based on what i have

7800X3D is a great pairing, and what I would go with.  8 cores, 16 threads are more than enough for what you list, and X3D benefits gaming.  

 

Btw, it's RX 9070.  RTX is Nvidia.

With an RX 9070, the best CPU you can afford. It's plenty powerful to leverage even a Ryzen 7 9800X3D at 1440p if you're willing to use upscaling, which is very viable with FSR4. 

 

So if you can afford the R7 7700, I'd go with that. If you can only afford the 7500F/7600(X), then I'd go with that.

 

If you are primarily gaming, there's no reason to go with Intel unless you can get them for cheap. If the 13600K or 14600K is the same price as the R5 7500F/7600(X), then it's fine, although you're giving up any chance for an upgrade path on that platform.

Look at the 9600X then, shave a little off the board.

Didn't mentioned it since i wanted to get recommendation based on performance

 

There are a few situations where it just need a little more smoothness, like a 12700k(f) (basically same power as a 13600k(f) but the 13gen is just a little better then the i7 12700k(f) ) or a 14600k(f) that compete with a 12900k(f) in terms of power

 

ryzen 9600x only the same ish in multicore (mine is slightly oced) but around 13% higher single core performance

If you have a constrained budget, wouldn't you want to just upgrade within the same socket type that you already have? Not really sure how not mentioning your current CPU intentionally changes the conversation or helps you any - we want you to have the best you can get too, and those answers come with information

 

Not mentioning your CPU doesn't make us judge it based on performance - we do that anyways with or without that information. And we gave you the performance option anyway - the best X3D chip you can afford is the best CPU for the GPU based on performance but you said no to all of those because of budget. I think you should just tell us the budget and what you have and help us help you

64gb ddr5 6400mhz cl32 cost more today then 12600kf + z790 mb and 32gb ddr5 6400mhz cl 32  did 6-12 month ago

Just overclock the i5 12600KF and see if you like it from there. If not, drop in an i7 12700k or a better CPU that is compatible.

Have you compared the performance of the 12600K and 9600X (for example)?

 

I am not seeing enough of a performance uplist to justify it.  Really, not unless you go 9800X3D will you see a massive uplift.

 

I guess if you want to prop up the LOWS, but you really want an X3D CPU for that.

It's cheaper than a platform upgrade. Since you are a heavy multitasker, having more cores will be a good benefit.

Most of these results are in the "only noticeable with a frame counter" levels of improvement. There are a few that are bigger improvements (like AC Valhalla) but it doesn't make sense to spend 350+ for a platform upgrade to go from 60 to 90 fps in a slow-paced game like that. The subjective experience of playing the game will barely change.

 

AM5 X3D is the only worthwhile upgrade from your current CPU. If that's too expensive right now, just keep using your 12600K. I promise it'll be fine lol.

I'd also point out that that first video is an extreme outlier compared to other reviews in terms of the differences it's showing. For example, Techpowerup reported the 9600X as only being about 18% faster than the 12600K on average at 720p with a 4090, i.e. a much more CPU-bound scenario than you would have at 1440p with a 9070:

Between the 12700K and the 14600K, in my opinion the price would be the big deciding factor. Either should work fine, even your 12600KF when the setup is good.

The Techpowerup results I linked earlier only show a 9% improvement between those two CPUs. 25% seems like a wildly high number and not what most reviews show.
