Ok, so i'm getting a a Maximus VII Ranger with a i5 4690k. But i don't have a previous haswell cpu, so i can't flash the bios "normally", however usb flashback is a thing. Anyway, I decide to check asus' website for more info on the flashback and to know what to rename the bios file to, yet the manual says nothing relevant about USB flashback, only how to set the BIOS to download the latest BIOS on a schedule.

Have I misunderstood what USB flashback is, or have asus just not mentioned anything relevant in their manual?

EDIT: I'm asking here and not ASUS, because with ASUS you can only contact support if you have already bought the item. (gg, great idea guys, don't allow your customers to ask for clarification before they buy something)

After about an hour of searching, I found out that ASUS have release a BIOS renamer utility, you just stick the bios file and the bios file renamer in the same folder, run the renamer and it will change the name for you. Would've been easier to just put the name in the manual but w/e.

You can find the renamer under BIOS-Utilities on ASUS' website.
