GPU not working as expected

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask but my pc hasn’t been working well recently. Ever since I swapped out my GTX770 for a GTX970 my pc has been turning on but it just shows me a blank screen with a slight blueish tint and occasionally the blue loading mouse icon. What is weird is on first startup everything works flawlessly until I restart my pc. Whats also interesting is that when I go back to my old gpu it works again and lets me use the new one for only one boot. I’ve tried installing new drivers for it but it doesn’t seem to help.
