looks like asus rolled out a new bios today for Z87 boards. Havent seen anything from msi or gigabyte yet, but im more than optimistic.

 

looks promising. start scooping up Z87 on the cheap, they may even support broadwell :)

Unlikely. Even a BIOS update wouldn't be able to support that. A new chipset would be out by then.

If one Z87 board can then chances are every Z87 board can. It means that there is no physical compatibility issues, which is the hardest problem to fix. As long as the hardware is capable, forcing it to do what you want with software alone is relatively simple. This is possibly the best news to come out about devil's canyon.

I agree we will see a new chipset at broadwell launch.

physically same socket just die shrink. Im putting my money on Z87 working with broadwell. lets hope the mainboard manufacturers update the MEI :)

we all kinda speculated but it is now official:) gets some boards on the cheap. who needs m.2 or satae anyways. im hunting the z87 clearance bins.

There might not be a new chipset anyway, Z97 will apparently support Broadwell. Z107 (or whatever they'll call it, Z107 sounds weird) will be for Skylake.

Wasn't z97 supposed to work with Broadwell too?

I was thinking of updating my B85 BIOS and get a new unlocked i5 or Pentium. It was pointless because I can't get a decent air cooler that will fit in my 10L case.
