So im looking to upgrade my graphics card and im not too knowledgeable on the subject, my friend helped me build my pc on a decent budget around 5 years ago. Right now i have a 2060 geforce rtx. Im not sure how far to upgrade it and if going to a 40series is worth it now.

2060 Geforce RTX

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core processor

32 GB Ram

ROG Strix b550-f gaming

Thanks for any help on this

Do you mean 50 series? Most 40 series cards are out of stock in most regions.

Do you have any idea what your budget is?

The microcenter near me has some refurbished 40 series that I saw but after looking more the price is closer to some 50 series. With their trade in system I could get around $70 for mine now so probably around $300-400

Ah, fair enough.

Ideally, you'd be looking for a 16GB card if you want it to last for another 5 years.

Would the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB or RTX 5060 Ti 16GB happen to be available for under $400 at your Micro Center?

Otherwise, the RX 9060 XT 16GB is available online at its $350 MSRP. Potentially it could be cheaper at your Micro Center?

First, what's your budget? And which part are you going to upgrade, just cpu, gpu or the whole pc?

If just the cpu and gpu, what resolution is your monitor, 1080p, 1440p or 4k?

if you are just going to upgrade your gpu, you can probably get up to 6750 xt or 6700 xt for 1080p and 4070/4060 ti/7800xt for 1440p resolution.

If you wish to upgrade both cpu and gpu, you can get just get any of the x3d like 5700x3d/5800x3d and you gen get up to 4070 ti/7800xt for 1080p, 4080/7900xtx/5080/9070xt for 1440p and 4k

If the whole pc, what's your use case and games you want to play?
