ROG ally x controller error

hi , i have been using my ally for a while now and randomly after traveling the controller mode stopped working , i have tried everything from redoing the bios , factory resetting it and still the same , non of the physical buttons works ( 35 times i restarted then the LEDS on sticks came on once then went off) i spoke to asus and they want me to send it in for RMA but its out of warranty, wanted to see if anyone else had the issue before i pay for it  .. any questions or suggestions would be appreciated
