A quick "which is better" question

Go to solution Solved by Hidden Orange,

Thief's a new game, so there's that, but it's also a reboot-sequel-thingie-mah-bob that has upset some fans of yore. Deus Ex: Human Revolution had a couple of recent sales where it was $5 and with the Director's Cut, you're getting everything. It's a game similar to older games where you kind of chose what to do and how to handle your situation. Just Cause 2 has a lot to do in an open-world and a fan-created multiplayer. Alan Wake's a neat horror-thriller game. The other two, I don't know.

Of the following list of games, which one would you pick?

  • Deus Ex Human Revolution
  • Thief
  • Alan Wake
  • Just Cause 2
  • Company of Heros 2
  • Sniper Elite 3

This is from of the Radeon Silver Rewards promotional thing on Newegg. I had decided on Dirt 3 as the first and potentially Sniper Elite 3 for the second slot (as I have Sniper V2 already) or Thief, but I really have no clue which is the best choice. Thanks for any input/insight.

Just Cause 2. More content = longer play time and more stuff to do that's fun.

Not on topic, but how well does that 955 BE perform in games? My friend is in need of one and my parents have one that they use casually that I'm planning on swapping out with a Sempron 145 to save my friend some money.

I haven't played any of the above games but I would either get sniper 3 or Just Cause 2.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

It works pretty good, especially for being about 5 years old. It drives the R9 270 I just got pretty well, and being unlocked means it can be OC'd a fair amount. I would recommend pairing it with a good cooler such as a CM Hyper212 Evo as any overclocking above the 3400MHz range will yield a lot of heat. Other than that, I haven't gotten too deep into gaming yet but it hasn't bottlenecked anything yet. I would recommend it any day (and I used to be an Intel-only guy before this). And for note: if you only run it stock speeds, it can easily undervolt by a few millivolts and will run noticeably cooler.

Yea, I'm thinking JC2 or Sniper Elite.

Yes, Noctua's are good, too. I haven't researched coolers deeply so I am not aware of the "best of the best" currently.

Well for air cooling, most people around here will point you towards the brown owl.

I had considered Thief for a bit but I'm angled more toward Just Cause 2 atm. I may play further into the Sniper V2 campaign before marking that off the list though. The reviews for Deus Ex and Alan Wake didn't spark any interest so as long as there's nothing amazing in them that I haven't heard about, I think the decision has been made.

I am a fan of their fans :) I will be sure to give attention to their other air cooling peripherals
