Getting started with streaming software

I'm looking to learn more about the ins and outs of the software used for streaming. What is the best program to use and where can I learn about getting to work?

How to get started is going to involve many things. Following its tutorial and wizard is a good start, then the hundreds if not thousands of videos and various posts online for how to do anything it in, available in a google search.

 

Understand you're not going to learn everything in one place. Time, experimentation and seeing what different people have to say is the only way.

As said, OBS or if you want more beginner friendly version, Streamlabs. Rest depends on what you are going to do with steaming. Streamlabs will be better if you just wanted to jump into similar stuff you see in Twitch and YouTube. It has premade scenes, notifications etc. But if you something where viewer interaction is not point, then OBS itself is fine and can be extended with addons.

 

The key points with steaming are hardware, what you are doing and what kind of Internet connection you have. Hardware shouldn't be issue with modern PCs. Unless your aim is to run 4k ultra BF6 while streaming 4k60. But if it's to stream your local sports with single webcam, almost any laptop can do that. Internet matters. Not the download speed (what is advertised as main thing) but upload. To stream at all you will need minimum 2mb upload. To stream HD, it should be 5-10mb.
