Specced out my pc fully thanks to help from here and pcpartpicker, now its just gpu. I have the budget for a 5070ti, but less is better. I stream and game, and plan to play at 1440p. Im fine with medium-high, dont need ultra.

5060ti (16gb) is around £400.

5070ti is around £680.

I can get an asus 5070ti prime for 670, but thats ebay and while the seller has good feedback you know how ebay is.
The brand new 5070ti is the palit gaming pro, and ive heard a loottttt of bad things about palit. To get a better branded one youre going over the 700 mark.

Do I need a 5070ti? or should i go with the 5060, if i go with the 5070, is it worth the minor ebay risk?

AMD cards are cheaper spec for spec, but, i fear those wont hold up to streaming.

I have had quite a few Palit cards over the years and they have been the best cards I have owned and I am incredibly critical to my GPU's.

It is true that they have had some issues with certain RTX 5000 models in terms of issues with the fans but overall Palit is just as a solid company as ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte etc.

Palit is actually the largest AIB / GPU manufacturer in the world.

If you go searching for negative reviews, you will find it for every single company.

I am not trying to defend Palit but in this hardware market you have to go card by card and not company by company.

Every single company has had its shitters and winners.

A 5070 Ti is quite a bit faster than a 5060 Ti 16GB and it will age better.  If you can afford it, get a 5070 Ti.

okay yeah thats fair, that does indeed knock out the 5060. That is almost double the performance for just under double the price, so, fair fair.

Fair point on the palit, its reviewed well (the gaming pro) especially compared to the gainward phoenix, going for it with warranty may be worth it, i just also love the look of that asus card.

After it's in the case, does it really matter what it looks like? Worry about playing, not about what the GPU looks like.

So... budget is more than just money in a bank account, it's also what you're comfortable spending.

By saying you have the budget for a 5070Ti but less is better.. means you're not comfortable with the 5070Ti pricing.  Meaning your budget doesn't reach that high.

The 5060Ti is a decent card for your needs.  So is the 9060XT 16GB card.

Yeah but paying more now to not upgrade later is also nice. The new pc was a subathon goal that was hit, so the money was always going towards it.

Yeah, the 5070 Ti is quite a bit faster 🙂  In some games the 5060 Ti 16GB just wont work well, like in Indiana Jones where RayTracing is always on to some extent.  The 5070 Ti will age much better.

Exactly!  I was actually going to get a 5090 this year and it would have been a Palit or MSI model.

Gainward is actually owned by Palit.

The ASUS TUF Models are pretty cool though.  What ASUS 5070 Ti do you like?

it was the asus prime, looked nice, good reviews (everything said overall one of the better variants).
