was originally going to get the corsair rm1000x psu but considering getting the rm850x instead to save a little money and because the rm1000x is out of stock but the motherboard i intend to get (MSI B850 EDGE TI) uses 2 8 pin power connectors and 1 8 pin pcie power connector for additional power, the rm1000x had connectors for the 2 power connectors and 4x pcie so enough for a 3x8 pin gpu and 1 x8 pin for the motherboard pcie but the rm850x only has 3 pcie connections, is it worth waiting for the rm1000x to come back in stock or will the rm850x be ok.

What CPU are you going to use with the B850 motherboard?聽

A single 8pin CPU power cable is usually plenty enough 馃檪聽The optional 8 pin CPU power connector at the bottom is just a gimmick, you can ignore this, its not required at all.

I have an overclocked 9800X3D and I only use a single 8pin CPU power cable, it can actually power two of these CPU's.
It can provide enough wattage for two 9800X3D's.

I really dislike the additional 8pin power connector on some MSI motherboards, seems like they are causing a lot more confusion and worries than actual usefulness in 99% of the situations.

Unless you are going absolute聽balls to the wall with a overclocking a 9950X3D and RTX 5090, you dont need this.

Just because the motherboard has all these connectors doesn't聽necessarily mean you have to use all of them.
