PC Suddenly Reboots*

*This happens on RARE occasions.

I never run benchmarks or anything that push my PC to the limit. Here are my specs:
Ryzen 5 1600

RTX 2070

Corsair CX650 (2017) 650 W 80+ Bronze

What are you doing when it reboots? Have you checked the logs? Does the screen go to black or does everything freeze? Does it reboot automatically or is it just shutting down and you have to press the power button? Full specs of the machine?

Time to run benchmarks and push your PC to the limit to find out what fails.

The CPU could find instability - this could be due to the mobo or the PSU. I'd try a firmware update first.

The GPU could find instability - this would most likely be due to the PSU.

This is all assuming your temps are OK - run Hardware Monitor while benchmarking to keep an eye on them.

I was playing a game while running server client in the BG. the whole PC just reboots itself, no manual power button. Haven't checked logs yet.

Are you always doing that when it crashes or is it seemingly random?

Random times. Not common, but rare occurance

Do you hear a loud click when it happens? Does anything else in your home flicker?

I initially thought my power went out, but not the case. I heard no click sound... at least I dont think so

It very much sounds like a power issue to me. Maybe some sort of failure with the PSU or motherboard

 

How often would you say this happens?

The last time this happened... maybe 2-5 months ago.
