Budget (including currency): ca. 1500 CHF / EUR

Country: Switzerland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly Gaming; Dune Awakening and titles like that.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I made a list a while back that came out to about 1300.- (including display and headset). I was wondering, if in the meantime there were changes / new items that would improve this build without going much more expensive..

My list was:

- Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX ATX AM5 Motherboard

- Ryzen 5 7500F AM5

- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7700 XT Gaming OC, 12 GB

- Kingston Fury Beast 2x 16GB, 6000 Mhz DDR5 CAS 30

- Kingston NV1 1tb m.2 SSD from my old build

- Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

- CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240 A-RGB

- Fans: 3x Arctic P12, 120 mm, ARGB

- HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 Core

- Display: AOC Q27G4XN

I would like it to look like this with black / gold look:

Thanks

Get an air cooler. The Thermalright Peerless assassin is more than enough or (since we are talking EU) you could snag the Artic freezer 36. They'll do either as good a job for less money or do somewhat better than that 240mm AIO

Get a better SSD. I'd say the MP44L or the WD sn580. If you wanna bump it up a bit MSI has a few good options too and there is the WD sn770.

I'd pick the 9060xt 16gb over the 7700xt cause they perform about the same but the 9060xt is typically cheaper and has FSR 4.0 and more VRAM

I'd also get a better PSU cause choices like the A750GL exist

Other than that, the case you can just 1 that you like. But if just black and gold look is the goal then just get a black case and make the fans have the tint you want

I edit my posts for so if you saw a typo.... no you didn't, you are just crazy

Thanks a lot for the reply. So i adjusted the list as follows:

My list:

- (new) Gigabyte B850 Gaming Wifi6

- Ryzen 5 7500F AM5

- (new) Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB

- Kingston Fury Beast 2x 16GB, 6000 Mhz DDR5 CAS 30

- SSD: The Kingston NV1 1tb m.2 SSD is from my old build and i thought of taking that -> I'd don't expect any bottlenecking on the ssd?

- (new) MSI MAG A750GL PCIE 5

- (new) CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 36

- Fans: 3x Arctic P12, 120 mm, ARGB

- Display: AOC Q27G4XN

So just two questions remain:

- Can I control the RGB Fans so that it's a static gold color? I guess with RGB Fusion by Gigabyte..

- And what Headset would be good?

Yes you can if they are ARBG as the A means Addressable

The headset you chose is fine.

I think this is a pretty stellar machine.  You could even save some money with a Thermalright AIO instead, as the 7500 doesn't need an AIO really, so you can go for one with more aesthetic if you want...  just letting you know of options. Otherwise it's pretty much what I would build if I were to.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! 🙂 I'm glad you approve of the build.

I had a AIO planned first for the aesthetics. The one you proposed costs about 110.- but there is an other option in my country: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB (about 90.-).

For my cooling I currently have planned:

- CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 36 (about 35.-)

- Case Fans: 2x 140mm (without RGB) come with the case (planned: 1x on top; 1x in front bottom)

- 3x Arctic P12 PWM PST A-RGB (about 35.-) (planned: 1x in the back, 2x in the front)

So in the current setup cooling would cost me 70.-. With the AIO, despite looking cool, I would probably still need some additional fans. So I think I'll go with my current plan.

Any advice on the direction of the fans? I would have done it like that: the one in the back as inflow, and all others as outflow?

Ok great, the fans are Arctic P12 PWM PST A-RGB

I exchanged the headset to a G435 LIGHTSPEED as it is a wireless headset at about the same price point 🙂

Okay, then the Arctic is the way to go!  I apologize, I read it as the Arctic Freezer 360, meaning 360 AIO!  Go with the cheaper it cooler, it will be fine!

I personally run my front fans as intake, my bottom as intake, my top as exhaust and my rear as exhaust.  Sort of a one direction air flow, trying to emulate a hair dryer or wind tunnel to get cool air in and hot air out efficiently.

Since the CPU COoler will push air out toward the back, it works in conjunction.

Oh great advice with regards to the fan directions. I would have done it wrong then.

I won't have fans at the bottom I think.

I traditionally do not have bottom fans, so from intake, top exhaust and rear exhaust.  As long as you place them logically in regards to how air is to flow, do it any way you want.  I just try to maintain 1 general direction.

I think you'll enjoy that machine a lot.

Now one last question..

i have found that in my shop the

amd ryzen 5 9600x

is about 35.- more expensive than the

ryzen 5 7500f

which I have planned for the build. Would you say the upgrade is worth it or am I good with going with the 7500f?

Hey guys,

After some more research I made one more adjustement:

CPU Cooler: BeQuiet! Pure Rock Pro3 instead of the Arctic Freezer 36 ---> The Arctic Freezer 36 is a one tower cooler that costs 40.-, while the Pure Rock is a two tower and only costs 45.- -> On one side I definitely should be good, if I want to upgrade the cpu in the future (i doubt it), on the other hand I ask myself if with this bulky cooler I even see the RGB of the fan in the back of the case??

What do you guys think? Am I good to go with this build now?

Thanks

Complete List would be now:

- Gigabyte B850 Gaming Wifi6

- Ryzen 5 7500F AM5

- Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB

- Kingston Fury Beast 2x 16GB, 6000 Mhz DDR5 CAS 30

- SSD: Crucial P310 M.2 NVME, PCIE4

- MSI MAG A750GL PCIE 5

- CPU Cooler: BeQuiet! Pure Rock Pro 3

- Fans: 1x Arctic P12 PWM PST, 120 mm ARGB for the back, 2x Arctic P14, 140mm ARGB for the front; The two pre-installed 140mm fans I plan to move to the top.

- Monitor: AOC Q27G4XN

- Headset: Logitech G G435 Lightspeed

All in all it comes to about 1'300.- (including the monitor and headset I think thats a good value for that price)

You have a 7500f and you don't intend to upgrade so worrying about the freezer 36 is pointless.

The ram and GPU is fine but if they aren't the cheapest versions then you should get the cheapest ones (brands don't matter for GPUs as long as a specific MODEL doesn't have a history of failures)

I edit my posts for so if you saw a typo.... no you didn't, you are just crazy

I don't think I will upgrade as I believe my GPU would be the bottleneck in terms of gaming performance. However, there are two reasons for the bigger cooler:

1) my room gets quite hot, especially during summer, so more cooling would probably be a good idea

2) 40.- for the AF 36 single tower is quite expensive, however 45.- for a dual tower one seems to be the better value/price

GPU and RAM are both the cheapest.

Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Just saying that the 7500f doesn't really get hot so you are worrying about an unlikelyhood

Oh you absolutely can, i have an even bigger cooler and because im pedantic and wanted the rgb ram to show i moved my fans back one like this
