Posted September 15, 2025 Going by TPU's relative performance chart, the RX 6650 XT is roughly 30% faster compared to the 3060 8 GB. Even with the advantage of DLSS, I'd say the 6650 XT is likely the better deal unless the Nvidia card is significantly cheaper. AMD also tends to be easier to set up on Linux, since its driver comes with the kernel. Whether the card is still worth it depends on what your expectations are, and whether you could get something more recent for the same price. The only game on your list I've tried on Linux is RDR2, using an RX 6600 (about 80% of the 6650 XT's performance). The game was playable, though there is a scene early on (very first train heist) were it had a 100% reproducible crash (jumping down onto the train). Since it's part of the game's prologue it wasn't skipable. I think the only fix was to play that scene on Windows using DX12, rather than Vulkan. But it's been a long while since I've played that game. Maybe things changed.
