I saw I have some Cat 5e cable and I want a shorter cable to make it less of a mess. Cat6 or Cat 6a is irrelevant?
I just need I think 0,5m or so.

What about the brand? are they all made in China? I found a brand called KableDirekt they stick a German flag in there but I think it's questionable, I doubt anyone German is involved. They probably do this to trick people.

Anyway, any decent brands in Amazon? I want something o solid quality. I was able to find a Brennenstuhl Premium-ALU power strip, solid product. Now I need this cable.

3950X - Noctua NH-D15- AORUS PRO X570 - 32GB - 1660 Super - 970 Evo Pro - RMX750 - Fraktal Define R6 - Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC

KabelDirekt is a German company for what it's worth. Though certainly possible they're just whitelabeling, like everyone else.

For 0.5m it really shouldn't matter too much, though you didn't specify what speed you're using the cable for. 1 GbE, 10 GbE?

For a really short cable, you're pretty safe buying whatever, especially if you only need 1 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps. Longer cables are where quality starts being more of a factor.

If you're aiming for 5 Gbps or faster, then yes, you'll need better than Cat 5E, and you might want to consider paying for a more premium cable.

How long is your cable? can't you just, you know, bend it a bit and use a tyrap? honestly unless you need 2.5G+ LAN speeds any patch cord will do.

Then if you need something like SFTP-SFFTP that's gonna cost more for sure.

The 20 year old Cat5e in my walls running 10G across my condo laughs in your general direction.

It's certainly true that, sometimes, a Cat 5e cable will punch above its weight. It's just out of spec, but so are a lot of things in tech.

In a sense, you're overclocking your network cables.
