Hi building my first pc and already got the nzxt h7 flow 2024 and was wondering what to do about fans, it comes with 3 120mm fans but they are 3 pin ones so thinking about replacing them, according to the specs i can have :

top 3x120mm or 2x140mm.
1 rear 120mm or 140mm.
3 front 120mm or 140mm.
3 bottom 120mm.

thinking 3 bottom 120mm,1 rear 140mm,3 front 140mm and 1 or 2 top 140mm.
any advice.
priority is quiet so will probably run them at low speeds.
don't want to spend a fortune.
will probably spend more on the 1 rear fan than the other fans individually.

Why replace them? they probably are fine, I'm using two 3 pin fans in my system

And 3 fans is a good start, it's probably enough. I'd stick the 3 fans in the front and I'd wait and see.

Air will find it's way out.

No need to fill every slot airflow is more about balance than max fans. Here’s what works best on the H7 Flow:
Front: 2×140 mm intakes bigger blades = same airflow at lower RPM = quieter.
Rear: 1×140 mm exhaust worth spending a bit more here since it’s the constant path for hot air.
Top: optional 1–2×140 mm exhaust if you notice heat build-up, but not required if front/rear are solid.
Skip the bottom intakes unless you’re running a very hot GPU – they add dust/noise without huge benefit in this case.
Also:
Go for PWM 4-pin fans, not 3-pin DC, so your motherboard can ramp them down when idle.
On a budget, Arctic F14 PWM or BeQuiet Pure Wings 2 are solid. If you want one premium, get a Noctua or Phanteks 140 mm for the rear slot.
That way you’ll have a very quiet system with smooth airflow without overspending.👍👌

thanks for the reply, having a look at your suggestions, but cannot find the bequiet pure wings 2 anywhere.

If you can’t find BeQuiet Pure Wings 2, two good alternatives in the same quiet but affordable
range are:
Arctic F14 PWM PST → usually easy to find, great value, daisy-chain support.
Noctua Redux 140mm → a bit pricier, but excellent acoustics and availability.
Both are solid replacements. If you want RGB options, Phanteks SK 140 PWM are also decent and not too loud. 👍
