Good Afternoon,

Recently, I have changed my pcie wifi adapter for my custom built pc (that I built 2 years ago). Back than I didn't have much knowledge about wifi adaptors so I just took my wifi card from my previous computer that I had and used it till last Saturday.

On Sunday I installed new pcie wifi adapter ( Mercusys MA80xe v1) from my older wifi card (not sure what it is but only supported up to wifi 4).

But now when ever I game or even when just opened google my pc is getting random spikes like photo below and it gets more intense when I game.

for example when I play league of legend my fps is 300+ and ping is 22 ms whole game but my game is lagging but with previous wifi it was no issue.

at the moment

  • wifi drivers is up to date
  • adapter driver is up to date
  • set roaming aggression to lowest (didnt have option for disable)

My pc spec is

  • MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS
  • AMD ryzen 5 5600x 6
  • corsair 16gb (2 x 8 gb)
  • TUF RTX 3070ti

If anyone could guess what might be going on I am open to try Screenshot2025-09-01225127.png.e1d8ab24da02c266097fedbd31e4a5fa.png

The graph shows bandwidth - I don't recall Windows Task Manager showing latency.

Anyways, you need to make sure your wifi network delivers the highest band size possible for 5 or 6 GHz - At least 80 Mhz. Then, make sure your Windows hardware settings for the wifi card is set to prefer 5 GHz. Then, if all that doesn't help, you need to use wifiman or some app to make sure there isn't conflicting bands causing interference.
