Hello,
I recently purchased a used rackmount 2u case from eBay, but it didn't include any ears.
Problem is that it uses some weird slot shape to take them. the seller doesnt have them and istarUSA (the manufacturer I believe since the case was listed as unbranded) wasn't any help either
Ive attatched the image of the case I purchased (without the fan vent) and the one that istarUSA is selling.
If anyone knows where I could get the ears on their own, or compatible ears, it would be greatly appreciated.
The case I think it is an iStarUSA d-200-FS.
first image is mine, second is theirs.

edit:
decided on using 2 metal rack ears for holding up the back of a rackmount shelf. They're solid steel and have large flanges on the bottom, so the load is split between the bolts and the flange.

you're probably gonna be SOL on that..

but they do make 2U rack shelves you can bolt into the rack, and just put this thin on said shelf.

I was looking into removing the handles and bolting on some generic 2u ears from amazon, but if i can get oofficial ones i would prefer those

you'd be amazed at how great self-tapping screws can be... Honestly, I'm not being a jerk.  When a buddy of mine fell into his rack a few of the mounted cases got all busted up.  A few dozen self tapping screws made it stronger that original.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

Assuming you have a four-post rack, get a rail kit instead. That's a lot of weight to cantilever off of 2U rack ears.

I'm sure there's a kit specifically designed for that chassis, but generics and UPS rails also work.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

im not too versed in screws
do self tapping screws drill their own hole and the threads? or do i need to pre-drill a hole and then the screw taps its own?

They drill their own holes.  The great thing about them is they drill the holes AND tread them.  that is why they are so strong.  You can screw and unscrew them, but they are strongest if you leave them in the very first time they punch the metal.
