Foam Padding?

MPX309

I'll be moving in a couple of weeks, I don't have a box for the GPU, but I have the case box, I'd like some foam padding to stuff inside the case for transport. . . . I'll probably drive with the case in my car myself, don't trust moving trucks. . .Where can I get padding from though?

I wouldn't feel comfortable stuffing foam inside a built case, to be honest.

If you're planning to transport it, yourself, in your vehicle. You should be fine, as I have transported my system many times in my own car successfully. Just take the usual precautions. Like, ensuring it's secure and not gonna slide around and get beat up.

Corsair 400R, i7 3770K @ 4.5GHz 16GB, Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz, Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Motherboard, 240GB Samsung 840 Evo Sata III SSD, 2 x Asus GTX 780 Direct CU2 SLI, Corsair H100i and Corsair AX860i Platinum Power supply.

Just remove the GPU, CPU cooler (if you have a massive air cooler) and secure hard drives. You'll be fine.

If you want to be 100% safe, the best way I've seen so far is what singularity computers does.

He takes foam, cuts & measures everything to fit in every nook and cranny in the case, and wraps the foam in cling-film before filling all the nooks& cranny's.

Although, plastic wrap can create static cling, he said he's never had an issue with it though.  I'm sure the foam by itself would be fine.

Transporting it in a car would be fine, I've moved my case many a time in the family car.

lay it flat on its back and make sure everything is tight and you should be fine. the weight of the GPU will be pushing down against the motherboard.
