A question best answered by Microsoft, considering they own both the Windows and Minecraft...

Also, aren't there two editions of Minecraft: Java and Bedrock (C++)?
Java runs on Arm64 fine, and has been for a very, very long time.

Says x64 under Architecture in task manager on my snapdragon x plus laptop.

Assuming you've got Java running on the laptop, the Java version should work. It's literally the entire point of Java that its applications can work across multiple different architectures.
