Ruminating on new display...

Planning to build a proper rig this year, my first since 2018 (haven't even had a dgpu since then). I've been researching panels to buy now ahead of time for use with my existing devices, and there doesn't seem to be a clear choice for me.

The things I'm looking for-

Budget.

I'm buying from Amazon UK.

IPS at least, colour accurate, saturated colours, almost OLED quality would be nice. Thought I know I'm not getting local dimming at a budget price.

Freesync/VRR.

Something good for PC or consoles.

I'm not into competitive gaming, just casual. I like my fortnite (it's ok take your shots :P)

I would take 120hz, but to be honest am perfectly happy at 60hz.

I was initially looking at an ultrawide but have been frustrated at the lack of flat panels. I use design software with UIs that curved monitors are not suitable for.

I started looking at tvs as a result, and came across the Samsung u8000f. https://www.samsung.com/ie/tvs/uhd-4k-tv/u8000f-58-inch-crystal-uhd-4k-smart-tv-ue58u8000fkxxu/

Both Amazon listings and the official site specs list this panel as being 50Hz, that couldn't possibly be correct, right? It's a 60Hz panel? Or am I back in 1990's Europe.

One thing I really like about it is Samsung has a deal for XCloud integration. Wouldn't mind playing Fortnite this way until building a rig. Bandwidth/image quality would be much better with a direct fibre connection into the TV rather than a Fire Stick or similar plugged into a slow USB A port, and running off wifi, right?

I'm somewhat set on the u8000f but I'm unsure if going with that simply for XCloud is a bit stupid. And possibly giving up better monitor features for gaming in the process.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Maybe I'm just not aware of some budget monitor that's the choice to go with in the present day.
