So I loaded up Valorant after like two days of not playing I was playing a death match when I noticed my fps was way lower than usual around 200 max like 300 and sometimes it’d dip to 100 fps when it didn’t do that. when before it’d stay a steady high 300-500 FPS I have an i7-14700k and a 5070, I was running Val at high settings in both instances I tried other games like cod6 at all high settings and got the same fps as always around 145ish and expedition 33 which in that game i did notice some dips in fps when loading up a cut scene or fight scene but nothing to bad like Valorant where for some reason it stays at 200fps then dips to 100fps when I used to get more. The only thing ive done to even think that I changed something for this to happen would be my fan speed but I don’t think that affects it since it dosent overheat. Any thoughts on what could’ve caused this ?

I'd try reversing whatever you did to the fan speed first. Otherwise it might just be some valorant only thing.

For my fans I just went into the Msi software and put the “fan tune” cause my fans were loud asf on idle and then just put them on pwm on bios I’ll try this tho if anyone had any other ideas I’d appreciate it !!

Yeah playing around with fancurves can indeed change performance.

Also 14th gen, could be degredation of sorts.

the cpu is new i got it like couple weeks ago, as for the fans all i did was put "fan tune" which made them quieter no difference in cpu temps image.thumb.png.06d16a118561bd248bf4ccb5762505ae.png
